The beauty has proved herself brainy by her ‘chilled out’ response to Shashi Tharoor’s tongue-in-cheek humour on Twitter.
The former diplomat and currently a Congress MP, Shashi Tharoor had earlier posted on twitter, “What a mistake to demonetise our currency! BJP should have realised that Indian cash dominates the globe: look, even our Chhillar has become Miss World!” As a result, he had to face a lot of flak from other users. Tharoor too must have realized India’s inability to take a joke for he apologised by further tweeting, “Guess the pun is the lowest form of humour, & the bilingual pun lower still! Apologies to the many who seem to have been righteously offended by a light-hearted tweet today. Certainly no offence was meant to a bright young girl whose answer I’ve separately praised. Please: Chill!”
While we should definitely appreciate Tharoor’s apology, what is more well-worded is Manushi Chhillar’s tweet regarding the matter, “Exactly @vineetjaintimes agree with you on this. A girl who has just won the World isn’t going to be upset over a tongue-in-cheek remark. ‘Chillar’ talk is just small change – let’s not forget the ‘chill’ within Chhillar .” This, not only won over Tharoor who called it a “Class act” but also the entire internet which is right now going berserk over how holistically awesome our Miss World is!
Manushi Chhillar, the 20-year-old, who brought back the title to India after a long span of 17 years, has received (and is still receiving!) a ton of blessings from Indians all over. Twitter exploded as ‘congratulations’ poured for her.
This Haryanvi girl’s achievement was even appreciated by our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, who wrote, “Congratulations @ManushiChhillar! India is proud of your accomplishment.”
Former Miss World, Priyanka Chopra too must have been elated by the news for she wrote, “And we have a successor! Congratulations @ManushiChhillar on becoming #MissWorld2017.. cherish and learn, and most importantly enjoy it.Bravo” Excellent advice, Ms Chopra!
Many other big names used Twitter to describe how proud they were of her. Amit Shah wrote, “Heartiest Congratulations to the Indian daughter Manushi Chhillar for conquering the world and making India proud on being crowned as #MissWorld2017. http://t.co/JmMgs6DMX6”.
Vineet Jain, managing director of India’s largest media group Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd. too wishes her by tweeting, “Congratulations manushi chhillar (our Femina Miss India) on winning miss world 2017. India is proud of you. @narendramodi”
