Body pain is of various types. But for the basic ones, a classic remedy is a relaxing bath with epsom salt. However, if your bathroom doesn’t have a tub, you can always go for chamomile to help you get relief from muscle spasms. Just rub chamomile essential oil in the affected area and wait for the it to work it’s soothing magic. Hot and cold compresses, alternatively, work as instant pain relievers too.

 

2. HairFall

Hairfall can be reduced by massaging your scalp with natural oils like olive oil, coconut oil or almond oil at least once a week. Aloe Vera gel too works wonders. Apply it on your scalp and leave it for a few hours before washing your hair with lukewarm water. As for your diet, including vitamins like B3, vitamin C and minerals such as Zinc and Iron will provide essential nourishment to your hair.

 

3. Dull Skin

Skin dullness can be attributed to many factors, but pollution is the main one. But don’t worry, because their are plenty of ways you can get back your glow. One of the best method is the honey-lemon face mask. Mix 1 teaspoon of honey and lemon juice. Apply it on you face, matching your hair growth track. Leave it for 10 minutes and then wash off with water. While lemon acts as a bleaching agent, honey helps in radiating the skin. A peach-tomato or a tamarind pulp face pack is found to be effective too.

 

4. Stomach Upsets

Stomach Upsets like diarrhea can be eased by following the BRAT diet, i.e, banana, rice, applesauce and toast. These not only help in bulking up your stool but also provide the necessary nutrients your body lost. For constipation, go with the CRAP diet, which comprises of cherries, raisins, apricots and prunes. Low in fibre, these help in the easy movement of stool down the colon. Plain yogurt is another superfood for people with upset stomach. While you should avoid dairy during such times, plain yogurt works wonders by providing the right probiotics.

 

5. Cough

There are usually two types of cough, one dry and the other characterised by sputum. Dry cough can be managed by drinking a concoction of honey mixed with water or herbal tea and a few drops of lemon. Drinking lots of fluid can thin the secretions that cause irritation in your throat. Steamy showers are always and added benefit.

Wet cough, on the other hand, can be treated to a great extent with steam inhalation. You can even flavour your steam with dried herbs like lavender, mint or thyme. Gargling too is very effective when is comes to reducing phlegm. And obviously, drink enough fluids. That will make the mucus thinner and hence, much easier to cough up.

 

6. Cold

Runny nose, watery eyes, sore throat, sneezing – is it a common cold or a allergic reaction? While common cold is due to viruses, allergic reaction is caused by the immune systems hyperactive reaction on being triggered by allergens. If it’s an allergic reaction, over-the-counter or prescribed antihistamines and keeping away from the allergen is all you can do. But if it’s a common cold, hydrating yourself with warm fluids like tea, chicken soup and even Apple juice will do wonders. You could also try adding moisture to the air by using a humidifier. Saltwater gargle is another method proven to provide immense relief and a faster recovery.

 

However, you must understand that if the problem persists then you must go to a doctor, for it can be a  symptom of some underlying disease.
